The Nigerian passport is not among the strongest passports in the world but Nigerian citizens can still visit 46 countries without a visa or visa on arrival which makes it the 98th best passport in the world in terms of travel freedom according to Henley & Partners passport index 2023.

For example, Turkey is such a country that requires Nigerian citizens to have a valid United States or Schengen, or UK visa to be eligible for an electronic visa.

Although, Nigerian passport holders can get visas on arrival in many countries and even have visa free access to a lot of countries. They need to carry a few important documents before starting their journey to either visa on arrival countries or visa free countries. These are general documents that are required by most countries from visitors.

  3. Hotel booking for the entire stay
  4. Cash $50 per day
  5. Visa fee (If applicable)

Nigerian Official or Diplomatic Passport Holders

On this page, I have shared the visa free countries for Nigerian ordinary passports only. If you have an official passport of Nigeria or a Diplomatic passport of Nigeria then you are allowed to visit more than 70 countries visa-free with that document. You can visit many European and Asian countries with an official or Diplomatic passport issued by Nigeria.
