Armenia is a Eurasian country located in the Caucasus Mountains bordering Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, and Georgia. The Armenian passport is not the strongest passport in Europe or Asia but it’s considered a better travel document in Asia.
The Armenian passport has visa-free access to more than 66 countries around the world which makes it the 81st strongest passport according to the latest Henley & Partners passport index 2023. However, the Armenian passport still doesn’t have free access to the Schengen area.

Required Documents for Armenian Citizens in 2023
Although, Armenian citizens can visit many countries without a visa or can get visa-on-arrival in many places, but that doesn’t mean Armenian will get entry without a hassle. Therefore, it’s advised to carry at least these general documents when visiting any of the visa-free countries or visa-on-arrival countries while carrying an Armenian passport.
- Passport valid for 6 months
- Return or onward ticket
- Hotel booking for the entire stay
- Cash $50 USD per day
- Visa fee (If applicable)
These are general requirements. Some countries may even ask for more documents from Armenian citizens. That’s why, I strongly recommend checking the respective website before making a travel plan to visit that particular country.
